The Fondation Beyeler is one of Switzerland's most internationally renowned and frequently visited museums. Located in an idyllic park in Riehen near Basel, the museum building, designed by Renzo Piano, is considered one of Europe's most beautiful art institutions, harmoniously blending nature, architecture, and art. The Fondation Beyeler houses one of the world's finest private collections and continuously presents high-quality exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. In accordance with the wishes of its founders, it is particularly committed to making art accessible to a wider public and to young people.

We are seeking to fill a position starting May 1, 2026, or by agreement, for a fixed term of two years.

Curatorial Assistantship (100%)

Your responsibilities include:

• Assisting the Senior Curator

• Conducting art historical research

• Writing informational texts related to exhibitions and the collection, and providing texts and information for the exhibition website

• Contributing to the exhibition catalog

• Handling loan requests

• Maintaining work lists and general lists

• Maintaining the database (entering relevant contacts, lenders, work data, etc.)

• Organizational and administrative tasks such as correspondence, scheduling, and documentation

Your profile

• Master's degree in Art History/Art Studies

• Good knowledge of 19th-21st century art

• Professional experience is an advantage

• Excellent written and spoken German, good knowledge of English and French

• Good IT skills (MS Office, databases)• Independent and structured work style, even under time pressure

• Commitment, flexibility, good teamwork and communication skills
