This grant is jointly offered by the Centre d'études Picasso at the Musée national Picasso-Paris, the Fundación Almine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso (FABA), and the Museo Picasso Málaga. It is intended for PhD candidates in art history enrolled at a European university or school.The purpose of this grant is to provide financial and academic support for a doctoral research project focusing on the work of Pablo Picasso and, more broadly, on 20th- and 21st-century art history. Projects should partly rely on the study of the collections, archives, and documentary resources of the Musée national Picasso-Paris, the Museo Picasso Málaga, or FABA.The annual grant amounts to €15,000 for one academic year and may be renewed twice.

• Circulation of artworks and the 20th
-century art market
• Study of Picasso’s visual culture
• Receptions of Picasso’s work on an international scale
• Study of works by Picasso’s contemporaries and “peripheral” practices
REQUIREMENTS
The selected candidate will benefit from a workspace at the Centre d'études Picasso and privileged access to the documentary resources and collections of the Musée national Picasso-Paris. Progress presentations to the museum’s scientific teams and partner institutions will be required.Recipients commit to acknowledging the support of the partner institutions in their work and publications. A copy of the completed doctoral dissertation must be submitted to the Centre d'études Picasso.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
To be eligible, applicants must:• Be enrolled in a PhD program at a European university or school• Demonstrate strong academic proficiency, both written and spoken, in French and English• Be able to travel regularly to the Centre d'études Picasso as needed
APPLICATION PROCEDURE
Each applicant must submit a complete application file including:
• The completed application form
• A curriculum vitae (including any publications, research, conferences, teaching experience, etc.)
• A presentation of the research project in French or English, including a provisional timeline (maximum 5 pages)
• Proof of PhD enrollment
• Optional: up to two letters of recommendation
