The Fondazione Prada Film Fund is an annual initiative that supports independent cinema. Every year, it selects films without any restriction on geography, theme, genre, or language.

The call for entries is open from 1 September to 17 October 2025.The projects selected for the first edition of the Fondazione Prada Film Fund will be announced between January and February 2026.

Projects can be submitted during the development, production or post-production phase. The final selection will be based exclusively on criteria such as quality, originality, vision, as well as strength and reliability of the production structure. An international committee composed of prominent figures from the film and cultural scene guarantees an independent, impartial and professional process. With the Fund, Fondazione Prada renews and enhances its commitment to cinema, supporting both established authors and new talents, as well as research projects, with the aim of giving space to innovative works.

The Fondazione Prada Film Fund (FPFF) supports independent  feature film projects in one of the following stages of production:

  • Development

  • Production

  • Post-production

To be eligible, projects must meet the criteria specified in the call, and applications may only be submitted by the main production company.

The Fund grants complete artistic freedom to the author and relies on external consultants and readers to evaluate projects.

Selection is carried out by a Committee appointed by Fondazione Prada, which also determines the amount of the grants.

The FPFF does not assume the role of co-producer and does not impose territorial restrictions.

The obligations of beneficiaries are governed by a contract with Fondazione Prada, and the main production company remains solely responsible for compliance with the established conditions.
