ORF Long Night of Museums 2022 Art walks, puzzle rallies and workshops

On October 1, the mumok will be open again until 1 a.m. as part of the Long Night of Museums and invites you to take a walk through current exhibitions and a varied program for children. Discover the new exhibition The animal in you - creatures in (and outside) the mumok collection , create works of art with your children to the sounds of the family opera Amahl and the nocturnal visitors or answer questions about works of art and discover the mumok in a puzzle rally . -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- program

  • Walks through the mumok 6 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m., 9 p.m., 10 p.m. Short tours where you will encounter a surprising number of animals – the highlights of the mumok collection in about 30 minutes.

  • Amahl – Rhythm & Drawing A cooperation between mumok and MusikTheater an der Wien For everyone aged 5 and over, an accompanying person required 6–6.30 p.m., 7–7.30 p.m., 8–8.30 p.m. mumok Lounge In the workshop Amahl Rhythm & Drawing – Star Sound, music and drawing merge. The percussionist Hannes Schöggl not only plays the most famous melodies from the family opera Amahl and the nocturnal visitors on his marimba, but also presents the diversity of the instrument. What does the dark night sky sound like? What does a starburst sound like? And what does a soft moonlight look like? We explore all this and more with the spherical sounds of the marimba and our collection of works at the joint musical drawing workshop in the mumok lounge.   • mumok mystery rally at night! – for children 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. We have prepared an exciting puzzle rally for you! It goes all the way through our museum at night. Equipped with your folder, you will go in search of clues that are hidden between our works of art. Or do the works of art themselves want to tell you something? Get on your way, solve our puzzles and get your reward!

  • mumok mystery rally at night! – for adults 6 p.m. to 1 a.m. What riddles does the mumok hide at night? They follow a trail of clues through the mumok and look for very specific works of art. Your task: Answer amusing and tricky questions about what you will find in our museum. No knowledge of art or the museum is required. All you need is good eyesight, some stamina and creative thinking. Solve clever and sophisticated puzzles to finally crack the code!
