About the Residency

Céret, in the Pyrénées-Orientales, is a border territory between urban and rural spaces, France and Spain, sea and mountains, with a rich artistic history.

The residency offers photographers the opportunity to reflect on their practice, create new work, and engage with the cultural and artistic research of the region.

Theme 2026–2027: WATER

In the face of ecological, social, and cultural changes, the residency encourages photographers to explore water not just as a resource, but as a subject to question our practices, memories, representations, and imagination surrounding it.

Whether you are an artist, photojournalist, documentarian, or visual artist, experienced or new to this theme, your perspective is welcome. The residency encourages experimentation, exploration, and storytelling anchored in a local context but open to universal issues.

Residency Details

• Duration: Between 8–12 weeks (continuous or in several segments) from September 2026 to June 2027.

• Exhibitions: Past works will be exhibited in Jan–Feb 2027; new works will be exhibited at the end of the residency.

• Support: Access to black & white and digital photo labs, photo shooting space (40 m²), and housing in Céret.

• Additional activities: Optional educational workshops, school projects, and public engagement events.

Financial Support

• Artistic grant: €3,900 gross

• Travel allowance: up to €800

• Meals: up to €400

• Production and printing costs: up to €2,500

• Extra remuneration for educational activities
