Association of Art Museum Curators (AAMC) and AAMC Foundation

Applications are now available to curators interested in taking part in one of two major annual initiatives from the AAMC Foundation:
Professional Alliance for Curators of Color is an initiative designed to support curators of color around the globe. Now in its third year, its application process is open to curators that self-identify as a person of color, with full-time work in a nonprofit visual art organization within the last 12–16 months, and overall with two to five years of working experience as a curator (including fellowships).
Propel Program is the longest-running initiative of its kind, offering both training sessions and workshops as well as support through a professional network. The application process is open to curators, with full-time work in a nonprofit visual art organization within the last 12–16 months, and overall seven to ten years of curatorial experience.
Both programs are accepting applications through a free, online portal, until June 1, 2023. AAMC Foundation encourages curators outside the US and within the US to apply.
The two programs, while separate programs, have similar components in their awarded fellowships, including: –Full funding for all components. –Multi-day in-person intensive in New York City, featuring leading voices within the arts community and behind-the-scenes tours, along with one-on-one career consulting. –Four to five virtual learning immersive sessions. –End of program interactive in-person workshop. –Full access to the 2024 Art Curators Conference, including in-person attendance, and invites to the Program Alumni Reception and Members’ Party, and full access to all activities. –Pairing with a senior curatorial leader for one-on-one virtual guidance.
