Job Description
CITY ARCHAEOLOGY VIENNA is responsible for carrying out excavations and the subsequent processing and scientific evaluation of the findings and discoveries that come to light. The resulting results on Vienna's city history are made available to a wide audience through publications and various educational offerings.
For the area of archaeological excavations, we are now offering a position as an Urban Archeology Fellow (m/f/d) for 37.5 hours per week . The fellowship is scheduled to last 3 years and offers the exciting opportunity to gain insights into archaeological excavations and construction supervision in the city of Vienna.
Your area of responsibility
Participation in archaeological measures
Digital documentation of excavation findings
Support in evaluating excavation results
Research into expected findings and statements
Co-supervision of the archaeological cadastre of urban archaeology
Inventory work
Your requirements profile
Completed university studies in archaeology
First experiences working on archaeological excavations
Basic knowledge of plan processing and databases is an advantage
Basic knowledge of found processing is an advantage
Very good knowledge of spoken and written German
Team player, physical resilience and hands-on mentality
