The ninth edition of Zurich Art Weekend 2026 presents a three-day, content-driven exchange platform taking place ahead of Art Basel. Building on the strong momentum of 2025, which welcomed over 45,000 visitors, this year’s edition expands its international collaborations and introduces new formats designed to encourage direct dialogues and encounters between artists, curators, collectors and cultural practitioners. Across 70+ venues, 75+ exhibitions, 150+ events and 150+ artists, the curated program places exhibitions at its core while activating the city through a rich program of events.

Over three days, Zurich Art Weekend reveals Zurich as a moment of convergence within the international art calendar—bringing together a highly curated network of institutions, galleries, off-spaces, editions, publishers, universities, collections and foundations across the city. Exhibitions form the core of the program, unfolding across a connected and walkable urban landscape that transforms Zurich into a dynamic cultural environment. The platform foregrounds artistic practices, voices and perspectives, while creating a framework for direct encounters between artists, curators, collectors and audiences. It operates as a space for exchange and reflection—where dialogue, knowledge and ideas circulate beyond commercial frameworks, and where Zurich’s intellectually driven art scene brings local depth in resonance with the international context.

Across the participating venues, the program brings together distinct yet complementary artistic positions—from internationally established to emerging—offering a precise and progressive view of contemporary practice. This curatorial breadth is extended through a carefully structured program of talks, performances, guided tours and interdisciplinary formats, creating a continuous flow of encounters throughout the city. These formats are conceived as intimate, human-scale experiences that enable direct engagement with artists and cultural practitioners, while fostering exchanges across disciplines, generations and fields of knowledge, and contributing to a shared cultural space where ideas are tested, perspectives expanded, and new connections formed.

This approach reflects Zurich Art Weekend’s commitment to public value: a curated program of excellence that remains free and open, inviting broad audiences to access and engage with the arts. The VIP & professional events program offers more intimate, behind-the-scenes access, while the invitation-only Zurich Art Forum convenes key international voices for focused peer exchange. Together, these formats reinforce Zurich Art Weekend’s core missions: strengthening international collaborations, democratising access to the arts, and fostering interdisciplinary dialogues—while generating exchanges and relationships that extend well beyond the three days of the event.
