Exceptionally talented and qualified artists in the fields of architecture, fine arts, literature and music can be supported through study stays at the German Academy Rome Villa Massimo (Rome Prize), the German Academy Rome Casa Baldi in Olevano Romano and the German Study Center in Venice.
The Villa Massimo Rome Prize is intended for artists who have already achieved supra-regional, preferably international, visibility in their field of art and who are considered to be a source of inspiration beyond the region in their field of work.
The scholarships at the Casa Baldi and the German Study Center in Venice are aimed at artists with supra-regional visibility and the willingness to engage with the respective place of inspiration, Olevano Romano or Venice, in their artistic development.
Artists who have already achieved national visibility in their field of art and who are willing to embrace the international character of the city on the Seine in their artistic development have the opportunity to apply for a scholarship at the Cité Internationale des Arts in the “Federal Ateliers”.

Artists who are German citizens or who can prove that their primary residence and creative center is in the Federal Republic of Germany at the time of application can apply for a scholarship abroad in Italy and France.
Interested parties who meet the requirements for a scholarship can apply here – online – from November 1 to January 15 for a stay in the following year.
It is recommended to apply early.
Late applications may be subject to longer processing times due to the high number of applicants.

The scholarships for study stays at the Villa Massimo (Rome Prize), the Casa Baldi and the study center in Venice are funded by the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media. The scholarships for the federal studios at the Cité Internationale des Arts are made possible by the federal states.
The application and selection process is supervised and organized by the Cultural Foundation of the States.
