Camera Austria and Kulturvermittlung Steiermark are collaboratively offering a scholarship for international photographers in the autumn of 2022. The scholarship is intended as an opportunity for photographers to do concentrated work and research in the city of Graz. It would thus be highly appreciated if the selected artist would reside in the city between mid-September and mid-October 2022 and shows an interest in connecting with the vibrant local art scene. During the residency period, the international festival steirischer herbst will also be running in Graz and offers an opportunity to engage with its diverse programme. During their stay, the selected artist will have time to work on an already ongoing project or to develop a new one and/or to conduct research. Further, the fellow is invited to use the extensive study library of Camera Austria during the institution’s opening hours. The residency comprises a fully equipped apartment in the city centre of Graz and a scholarship of €1000 for the period of their stay. Furthermore, travel expenses from their regular place of residency to Graz and back after the residency will be reimbursed. The residency will conclude with a presentation where the selected artist will speak about their work in the exhibition and library space of Camera Austria. The residency is open to all international artists who were born after 1 January 1982, and who work with lens-based arts.
