Description Yearly, arts centre BUDA welcomes around 45 artists (individuals and companies) to come, work and live for about a month in Kortrijk, Belgium. BUDA fine-tunes measure made residency programs for visiting artists, to make sure their research and creation takes place in optimal circumstances. They create a zone where artists can work, collaborate and experiment in a professional environment without feeling the pressure to perform. There are five studio’s (Budatoren) to work and two theatre halls (Budascoop). Residents can stay overnight in one of the two residency houses. If wanted, BUDA organises informal presentations of the outcome to a specific audience called ‘the compañeros’ – people who are used to watch showings and give their feedback afterwards, somewhere in between professional eyes and formal audiences.

Outcome Performance, film, publication, installation etc.

Artists Joshua Rutter and Karol Tyminski developed projects in the residency that were supported by i-Portunus, EU Mobility Scheme for artists and cultural professionals. Read more about it here.
